Estimated to be around 150 years old. A rug of this large size is rarely knotted during the last decades. It takes about 1 year for 4 persons to produce this rug. Its size is 18' by 13'5"  (550 x 410 cm). It is in very good condition It is 100% root dyed and its material is wool on cotton. It was made in Iran but was used in one of the palaces in Northern Iraq during Saddam's reign. You can understand it was used in a palace because the back of the rug is much more worn out than its front. My father bought this rug when he was buying antique rugs from Iran and selling them in Turkey.
