Most of the maps are derived from large format photographic negatives which, when scanned, produce tiff files in excess of 100 megabytes. The maps are printed on an enhanced matte paper using Epson Ultrachrome archival inks--rated for 100+ years. Are the images in the public domain? Many of the images are, however, we directly own an increasing number of the images and the ones we own are under copyright. Additionally, some of the images we do not own, yet have an agreement to produce, may be under copyright.
