Cartographer traces several rivers flowing into the Altlantic including the Savannah, and names many cities including Augusta, Charleston, Georgetown, Columbia, etc. This is an original engraved map.  Very Good condition, and retaining a strong impression. Suitable for framing. Sheet measures approximately 9.25 inches x 13.25 inches (23.5 cm x 33.5 cm). On February 5, 1778, South Carolina became the first state to ratify the first constitution of the United States - the Articles of Confederation. The current United States Constitution was proposed for adoption by the States on September 17, 1787, and South Carolina was the 8th state to ratify it, on May 23, 1788.
