Welcome! Please click on image to enlarge! Up for your consideration: ANTIQUE SHELF UNIT WITH DRAWERS - AWESOME PRIMITIVE! This is a great vintage shelf unit we found at an old Victorian estate near Princeton, IL, owned by a well-known physician. This piece was in the pantry area. Very well used item that is still sturdy after nearly 100 years! The three stationary shelves are nearly an inch thick as are the drawers. Very substantial, heavy piece. Shelves are spaced 10 inches apart and are 13 inches deep. Overall it is 64 1/4 inches long, 16 1/2 inches deep, and 46 1/4 inches high. Two side drawers measure approx. 14 x 14 inches and 6 inches high; middle drawer is 22 1/2 inches wide and 14 inches deep and 6 inches high. Back is rustic planked wood. What we did: in order to take advantage of the rugged worn look, we restored the piece with several coats of paint. The last coat is black, topped with burnt sienna (reddish) glaze to highlight the stressed areas. Finished with a satin varnish for durability. Very versatile furniture. Can be used in a family room with flat screen above it, or to add storage to your kitchen dining area; perfect perch for your wicker baskets or other collectibles; could be used in entry or mudroom for hat and glove storage.
