Cutting : This handaxe was created using a large piece of beautiful white flint. It is fully cut on both faces, showing large negative flake scars. The sides present smaller retouches, and evidence of useware is visible on the edges and tip. The point is thin and long, very delicate. MUSEUM QUALITY ! Dating, hominid : This implement belongs to the Late Acheulian Culture (Lower Paleolithic period, circa 300 000 years ago), and was conceived by Homo HEIDELBERGENSIS. Origin : This outstanding piece was found in eastern France, in the departement of the Marne (51), in 1962.
