The iron is through peened on the top of the brass on the shovel and both finials/handles are pieced as you would expect from period pieces. The shovel measures 27” x 3 3/4” overall and the tongs are 25” x 3”. You will note historic repairs to the shovel (see close-ups) with wear to the end of the scoop.
