Victorian Furniture : This is a fabulous American Etagere on cabinet. The piece was made in New York circa 1850. Although unmarked, the quality of the piece would indicate it was made by one of the prominent cabinet makers. The piece is a flame mahogany and the carvings are excellent. This piece has been fully and professionally restored. Features 1 upper drawer. Nice serpentine front lower cupboard. Original lower glass, which is shaped to follow the serpentine shape. Adjustable inner shelf. Finger carved. Fantastic carvings throughout. "S" scrolls, roses, apple blossoms, and leaves. Each lower shelf support has a carved griffin or dragon. Fabulous detailed carved large roses. The beveled mirrors are replaced and casters added during the restoration. There are a few fine age cracks in the veneer(appropriate for a piece that is 150+ years old). Minor imperfections. The patina on this is fabulous. This piece glows when light hits it. This piece needs nothing, it is fully restored and ready for your home. We believe it is one of the nicest around. The piece measures about 42" Wide, 70" tall, and 20" deep at its deepest.
