This wonderful American coin silver tea set consists of a teapot, coffee pot, sugar and creamer. It is decorated with hand tooled relief floral designs with openwork feet and leaf cap handles and spouts. The pieces are marked with the Wood & Hughes makers mark. The coffee pot measures 36 full weight ounces on our postal scale, the teapot weighs 31.5 ounces, the sugar weighs 21.3 ounces, the creamer weighs 15 ounces. The coffee pot measures 10 + ¾ inches tall by 9 + ½ inches across, the teapot measures 9 + 5/8 inches tall by 8 + ¾ inches across, the sugar measures 8 inches tall by 7 + ½ inches across and the creamer measures 7 + ¼ inches tall by 6 + ¼ inches across. The set dates from the mid 19th Century and is in excellent condition with just a couple tiny dings and the teapot rocks slightly on its feet. There are no monograms or removals.
