Both pieces are resting on thrones, the emperor holding onto what appears to be some sort scroll and the empress a gift box. Each piece is hand carved of bone and is highly intricately detailed. The arms of the emperor's and empress' throne are carved with a dragon pattern. Both figures are adorned with beaded necklaces. Each measures approximately 41" tall, 27" wide, and 18" deep. These pieces are in great condition considering their age. One of the statue's base legs is loose, the emperor's necklace has come apart but can be easily fixed and the finial of the female's headpiece needs to be replaced.
