CLARK Ruby Red Glass Spool Thread Cabinet' Description Up for bids is a wonderful GEORGE A. CLARK spool cabinet with ruby red glass. The cabinet measures 28" wide, 18 3/4" deep and stands 19 1/2" tall. The top drawer glass "GEORGE A. CLARK", has a crack in the corner near the G which is not very noticible, but needs mentioning. There is a piece of glass out of the "SOLE AGENT " and the bottom glass has been totally replaced with a replacement glass that is not wide enough for this model which accounts for the added piece of glass as I believe it had a" Milwards needles " Glass for the bottom glass which is a little wider and I have only ever seen one cabinet like that. It was this way when I bought it in Ohio some time ago. The cabinet is walnut and has been refinished at some time during its life. There is a nice patina to the wood. I have tried to show in the pics the condition, but I especially would like to point out the chip in the rear corner and the scarring of the wood above the "SOLE AGENT" where it must have gotten bumped hard enough to do the damage to the wood and glass. The knobs are original and someone has polished them. The height of this cabinet makes it perfect to set alongside your favorite chair as an end table. The six drawers will hold a lot of items or house your collection nicely. I love these old general store cabinets and will be listing several over the coming week.
