Bedroom Suite' Description This auction is for a 7-piece French art deco bedroom suite c.1932.  This was very high-end furniture when it was made and is a truly exceptional set for this period.  The craftmanship, materials, and quality are superb, featuring beautiful handcarved detail, beveled and etched mirrors, sweeping lines, and what I believe is flame-maple veneer.  This suite was made with care and attention to detail not seen today.  The set consists of a graceful and elegant ladies' vanity, vanity bench, a massive and impressive gentlemens' mirrored dresser which features nice deep drawers and a valet drawer with compartments for cufflinks, ties, etc., a stunning chest-on-chest (this piece is an absolute showstopper, the picture does NOT come close to capturing it, I have had several people make offers on it but I will only sell this as a set), a chair, full size headboard w/ footboard and wooden siderails, and nightstand.  Created by the Montour Furniture Company in Montoursville, PA, it bears the maker's mark inside the drawers.  This lovely set has had only two owners over the years and is in very nice condition, but it does show some signs of the past 75 years.  There is some slight frosting in the mirrors due to age, a few bits of missing trim on the headboard,  the chest-on-chest has some minor trim damage, the footboard has a loose caster wheel, there is an area of slight discoloration on the vanity surface and on the surface of the mirrored chest.  This sounds like a lot but does not detract from this set's appeal, however I wanted to disclose this information.  This proved difficult to photograph but if you would like to see additional picture of any pieces please contact me.  Approximate dimensions of the larger pieces are:  Vanity h:70", w:53", d:20",  Dresser  h:69"(from top of mirror), w:54", d:24",  Chest-on-chest: h:57", w:42", d:20".
