GORGEOUS RESTORED 1863 HOWE SEWING MACHINE Start Price USD 39.99 Current Price USD 216.50 Time Left - Bid Count 9 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Monday, September 01, 2008 End Time Monday, September 08, 2008 Location Omaha, NE See more about 'GORGEOUS RESTORED 1863 HOWE SEWING MACHINE' Description   Beautiful restored (by me) 1863 Howe sewing machine.  Sewing plate marked Howe's Patent Sep. 10, 1846, May 8, 1849, Nov. 12, 1850, Jun. 22, 1852, Dec. 19, 1854 & Mar. 17, 1863.  The other plate was missing so I made a replacement.  The cams are stamped A Shuttle & A Needle.  Bottom is marked A, No. 1.  The model A machine was for family or light manufacturing.  Crank handle was added for functionality.  Everything else is original to machine.   Still has the original shuttle.   Operates very smoothly.  Several coats of gloss black & clear-coat.  The gold accents were hand painted.  I came as close as I could from what little I found on the net.  Measures 14" long by 14" high by 8" deep with display stand.  Display stand is a simple design of polished copper tubing & a wood bottom.  Great addition to your collection!
