Suzani from the TADJIK language means “embroidered with a needle”. Hand-emroidery with silk threads on home-made cotton fabric. It is from TADJIKISTAN (Khodjent) . Hand-embroidery of TADJIKISTAN (Khodjent) too differs by an amazing, hardly appreciable stitches and wonderful delicate restrained colours. You can see skilful alternation of gentle and bright colours: pink passes in red and in pink again; dark claret in dark green, yellow in pink and in white, etc. Fine designed thin black line gives clearity to the pattern and it demarcates separate subjects.
