Olay .  Original antique Mexican feather mosaic art.  Signed on the back side by the artist Gabriel L. Olay.  Circa mid 19th century to first quarter 20th century.  Very rare.   By a master of Mexican folk art.  We have shown this to experts whom have confirmed it's authenticity.  This is a beautiful rare piece of historical Mexican folk art.  It is in a antique frame which actually has the signature of another famous artist from the early to mid 19th century(very faded, and from a different work of art which was previously in this frame before we acquired it).  The frame is taped on the back.  I read an interview with Maestro Olay where he stated that these works of art must be sealed in order to preserve them and protect them from the elements and weather and insects since there are organic materials such as bird feathers and vegetable fibers.   This painting has age and wear.  It is not mint or flawless condition.  But it is in good condition.  No major damages.  It needs to be professionally preserved.   No repairs or restorations have been done on this.  Please contact us for further pictures, information, or details.
