Gillieron, a Swiss national, was a widely-respected artifact restorer who had worked on some of the most important Grecian archeological projects of the late 19th century. Around 1900 he founded his own firm to produce reproductions, and the catalog offered here was their first. In recent years some people have suggested that Gillieron was also a key player in antiquities forging and exportation to Europe. (34) pages of text, providing an introductory essay in German, English and French, followed by (32) photographic montage plates, showing all of the offered objects. In the original ragpaper wrappers with gilt titles. The last two plates are somewhat scuffed, otherwise the catalog is in excellent condition throughout. (24 x 16cm).
