No further building required contrarily to many other models out there. What you see advertised is exactly what you will receive after you purchase the item. This model is totally handcrafted from scratch using the best raw materials available (100% Teak throughout the build). A lot of care and attention has gone into the building process. The model is handmade to the highest level of craftsmanship and is of much higher quality. All decorations/figurines & figurehead are wooden pieces that have been meticulously carved by hand and just the wooden carvings takes a lot of work to produce. We use teak planking for the hull. Wooden plank on frame technique is used. Individual thin planks are mounted onto an inner array of frames. The hull is sanded, treated and varnished for a better finish. The model is handpainted for an accurate representation. We use solid wooden masts. The sails are made of hand sewn weathered linen. Cannons are made of brass and each individually turned using a lathe. All rigging is hand laid. Several thicknesses of rigging are used for a close representation of the original ships rigging. The rigging is treated with a special wax for durability and presentation.
