During William Basie's early days of playing, he played on this piano. Williams parents were the caretakers and coachman for Judge White who owned one of the big estates in Red Bank,NJ. This piano has been in my families possession fo over 35 years. The piano still has a golden musical sound with all documentation that "Count Basie" did his early years of piano practicing on. The autobiography of "Count Basie", "Good Morning Blues" as told to Albert Murray Red Bank and There-About 1904=Circa 1923 explains. "And when I started taking piano lessons, she use to have me come into the house and go over the keyboard exercises for her".
