Description
This rare storage jar is signed "AM" for Arie Meaders, of the famous Meaders Family pottery dynasty in Georgia.  The jar measures 5 and 1/2 inches tall by 6 and 1/2 inches diameter from outer grapes to those on the other side.  The jar is decorated with the grapes and leaf design that is the hallmark Meaders family motif. The jar is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, or repairs.  Another original Arie Meaders jar very similar to this one was sold on ebay on August 27, 2008 for well over $2500.  I included a number of very close up photos that will speak for themselves.  All of them seem to look a bit lighter and tannish in color than the jar actually looks to me.  To me, the jar actually appears slightly darker and more greenish than tannish.   Visit www.meadersfamily.com for more information.
