Description
For Sale is a truly one of a kind piece of piano building history.  The first electric Grand Piano in the world. In the 1930th the Piano was developed by Bechstein Berlin (for the Piano) together with Siemens / Telefunken (for the electric). The NEO-BECHSTEIN was born. The main electric ideas came from  the Nobel Prize owner Walter Nernst.Every five tones there is one electric pick up. If you see the size of the pick ups, you know why.In the end it became the first multimedia center of the World. There was an electric Grand Piano with an build in tube radio. On extra costs you also could get a record player with a build in mono loudspeaker standing beside the piano. The owner was able to play a record of an Orchestra of his choice and play the piano part himself. This piano should have been the future of the piano with a tube amplifier of 3 watts! exit power.BECHSTEIN made about 150 of this grand pianos, of witch 22 are knows in the world at the moment. One of them is in the Smithsonian  Museum. In 1932 a licencee production of the pianomaker PETROF started. But they only made about 10 of these rare instruments. Two are in the technical museum in Praque. One in good condition in the exhibition, one in poor contion stored. A third one in the technical museum in Vienna. This NEO-PETROF Piano is the number four in the world remaining. As shown in the pictures, it was stored for the last about 60 years in a dry basement, forgotten by the world. The Piano is in its original state, with all the original electric equipment, we did not switch it on. This museums piece needs complete work, if you want to hear it again. The piano itself is playing well, there is no damage. But for the electric it needs a perfect craftsman who does know about the tube technology. If you want to know more about this 1930 electric piano, you can Google it by the words: Neo-Bechstein or Neo-Petrof.There is no other one for sale in the world, take the chance to own a piece of the history of the Piano.Feel free to ask any questions: republik@web.deInternational shipping will be arranged by me.
