See more about 'New York Dolphin Sofa by Charles Honore Lannuier 1820 ' Description Selling a New York Dolphin Ended Sofa circa 1820 made by the famous cabinet maker Charles Honore Lannuier. It has the original finish,needs to be upholstered and is very solid and usable. Lannuier was born in 1779 in France and came to this country in the 1790's where he got a job in the cabinet shop of Duncan Phyfe. Some of Lannuier's later pieces had gold guilding on them. This is apparently one of his early pieces. We have the history where this came from. It was in the same family in Long Island probably since it was made. Lannuier died at an early age making his furniture rare and very sought after. We have an auction estimate on this of 20-50 thousand but will be starting the auction much lower.It measures 94" long and 26" deep. You will have to pick it up yourself or have it delivered.We will deliver it to a local shipper or help locate a shipper.
