Dimensions : 68" High 82" Wide + 24" each side for the seats Internal Opening : 42 1/4" High 51 1/2" Wide.  This Exceptional piece was removed from a Baronial Hall in Birmingham about 15 years ago and then refitted in a private residence where it has been ever since.   We suspect the panelling and the seats where added at a later date as the carving on the panels doesn't quite match  however the lions heads on the boxes match.  Although the carving doesn't match the colours are spot on so this is only noticeable upon close inspection.  The Fireplace is in excellent condition and has been removed and is now ready for installation.  The boxes on each side have lift up lids for storage of coal and firewood.   As we cannot be sure about the side panels and boxes the auction is for the surround only however the other parts will be included free of charge if you should want them.  Pictures 1&3 show the Fireplace before it was removed.
