Cases were made in New York City in the late 1800s, possible 1898, or 1899, and were shipped to a jewelry store in Northwest CT. There may be more info on these cases available at our local historical society.  I bought the cases when the store was closed about 15 years or so ago. I have the cases insured for $12,000 but they may be worth more than that. I was recently accepted an offer of  $5,000 for the pair but the buyer has not come forward with the money so I am re-offering.   These cases are an unusual 10 feet long and each have 6 heavy clawfoot legs and I still have all the glass balls and cups that were meant to go under the leg. one of the cases has a cracked top glass that needs to be replaced but otherwise cases are in excellent condition.  These would be great in any jewelry or antique store or would look very classy in any environment. Buyer must pick up or arrange shipping. I might consider trade for  a motor home, small bus, or old baseball cards or comic books.
