Executed in walnut and burl wood, with ornate turnings incorporated in the gallery, circa 1884. This design was created in response to the demand for a simpler style influenced by Charles Eastlake. It is easy to see the contrast between the earlier fancier renaissance revival style and the later Eastlake version when shown together. Some have the original pencil signature on a drawer of desk trimmer Zue Jackson. Gold tooled leather writing board and bronze hardware throughout.
