I couldn't believe it was solid sterling when I first saw it, these types of gallery trays are always silver plated! Hallmarked Chester 1906, it's made by the well known English silversmiths Walker & Hall. This is very large, 25 1/2" long by 17 1/2" wide, and it weights about 105 Troy ozs!!! The Gallery is really wide & ornately pierced with 2 cut out handles on the ends. It has an old family crest in the center and stands on 4 large ball feet. The condition is perfect!
